We are committed to working with customers who may require financial hardship assistance and will assess each request fairly and promptly.

What Is Financial Hardship?

Financial hardship may occur when a customer is unable, or expects to be unable, to meet their repayment obligations due to unforeseen circumstances, including:

  • Illness or injury
  • Loss of employment or reduction in income
  • Relationship breakdown
  • Family or domestic violence
  • Natural disasters
  • Other unexpected financial difficulties

How We May Be Able to Assist

Depending on your circumstances, assistance options may include:

  • Temporary repayment arrangements
  • Reduced repayment amounts
  • Short-term payment pauses
  • Extension of the loan term
  • Other suitable arrangements based on your individual situation

Any assistance provided will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Alternatively, you may submit your request in writing with details of your current financial situation and the assistance you are seeking.

We may also offer assistance where we identify that you may be experiencing financial hardship, even if you have not made a request.

Supporting Information

To help us assess your request, we may ask you to provide supporting documentation, such as:

  • Recent bank statements
  • Payslips or proof of income
  • Centrelink statements
  • Medical certificates
  • Other documents relevant to your circumstances

Assessment Timeframes

We aim to acknowledge hardship requests promptly and assess your request as quickly as possible once sufficient information has been received.

We will keep you informed throughout the assessment process and aim to respond within the timeframes required by law.
